Kidz Bizz Casual Relief Support

Kids Bizz is currently seeing a Casual Relief Support person. This is a great opportunity, and we are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated person provide support to the Kidz Bizz Coordinator and also the playgroup leaders and working with the team to fulfil the Kidz Bizz Vision and Mission which is “To demonstrate the love of Christ to families with young children in our local community”.

Kidz Bizz playgroups are run weekly by trained volunteer leaders from CityLife Church. We offer a unique, two-hour program which allows the children to learn through different play experiences while also encouraging parents to build friendships.

Key responsibilities include – but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring the room is prepared, welcome parents and children.
  • Engage with new families to ensure they feel welcome and supported in our Kidz Bizz space.
  • Facilitate and lead mat time (sharing God’s story) and leading music time (worship) as per curriculum.
  • Explaining craft and coordinating snack time.
  • Supervise outdoor play and interact with families.
  • Identify and refer parents and volunteers who require pastoral care (physical, emotional and spiritual) to the Kidz Bizz Coordinator.

The successful applicant will have:

  • 1 – 2 years’ experience leading or working with children & families.
  • Understanding of best practice requirements involved in running playgroups is desired but not essential
  • Previous experience with volunteers
  • Basic skills in the Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong organisational ability
  • Clear communication skills
  • Police Check - mandatory
  • Working with Children Check Card (Employee) – mandatory

Network Pastor - Whittlesea

CityLife Whittlesea has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and passionate leader who senses God’s call to invest in the Whittlesea congregation as our Network Pastor.

The Whittlesea Network Pastor is responsible to oversee a network of Life Groups for the Whittlesea congregation and ensure their volunteer leaders are engaged, supported, guided and the groups are healthy and growing.

CityLife Church is committed to “raise up fervent followers of Jesus Christ who will reach out and impact communities, cities and nations for the Kingdom of God.”

To facilitate this vision, we have four key components of CityLife Church, including weekend meetings, Life Groups, LifeTracks and Coaching. Life Groups are the primary focus which exist for the purpose of pastoral care, discipleship, ministry development and outreach.

This is a full time position that will include weekend work. Please note that applicants must have Australian citizenship or full working rights for Australia.

Key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee pastoral care for within the CityLife Whittlesea congregation in consultation with the Lead Pastor.
  • Recruit, train, develop and coach all Life Group coaches, leaders and assistants and work actively to connect people to Life Groups.
  • Oversee Whittlesea involvement with LifeTracks courses
  • To host and preach at weekend meetings as required.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, rostering and overall leadership of the Welcome, Café & Connections Teams
  • Walk alongside new people taking their first steps in connecting into CityLife Church (E.g. through Life Groups, Serving, Life Tracks and Alpha etc.)
  • Work Closely with the relevant Whittlesea Staff in supporting the end-to-end coordination of church-wide events and outreach ministry activities.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Ministry/Theology preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select and develop leaders.
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking, message construction and report writing.
  • Ability to motivate leaders and see growth of leadership teams.
  • Team building skills and works well within a team of peer staff members
  • Effective decision-making and problem solving
  • Strong Leadership/Coaching skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite

Network Pastor - Chinese Church (cantonese Congregation Focus)

CityLife Chinese Church is currently seeking a Network Pastor with a Cantonese Congregation focus. The Network Pastor – Chinese Church (Cantonese Congregation Focus), works closely with the Chinese Church Lead Pastor to grow the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor is mainly responsible for the development and growth of pastoral care and discipleship through our Life Groups network, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups.


The Network Pastor is also responsible with the Lead Pastor for the development and growth of the Chinese Church weekend services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor works closely with the Lead Pastor – Chinese Church, to develop and deliver on the goals and vision for the broader Chinese Church congregation – spanning both Cantonese and Mandarin communities – in line with the Vision of CityLife Church.

This is a Fixed Term role - 12 months – 0.4 FTE (2 days)


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in casting vision and goals for the Chinese Church, with a primary focus on the Cantonese Congregation.
  • Assist in implementing the vision and goals for the Chinese Church, including both the Cantonese and Mandarin congregations.

  • Grow Life Groups through active coaching of Life Group leaders and co-leaders & raising new groups.
  • Overseeing the Chinese Church Life Groups, including Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking groups.
  • Assist in preparations for smooth running of the Chinese Church services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation services.
  • Coaching and training Life Group Coaches, Leaders and Co-Leaders.
  • Provide Life Tracks teaching and training for the Chinese Church congregation, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking members.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Theological or Pastoral qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a pastoral capacity is preferable.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select and develop leaders/volunteers.
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, weekend message construction and delivery, and report writing.
  • Ability to motivate leaders and grow volunteer leadership teams.
  • Leadership - effective consulting and decision-making skills and experience (preferably at least two years’ experience leading others).
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and social media.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred, as this role supports both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups and the broader Chinese Church Congregation.

CLCC COACH Community Mentoring Coordinator

CityLife Community Care (CLCC) is looking for an experienced, organised individual to join our passionate and dedicated team as our COACH Community Mentoring Coordinator.

For almost 30 years, CLCC has supported people in times of crisis, financial difficulty, isolation, and distress. Through our team members and staff, we offer holistic services and empowering pathways for people to move forward in their lives and thrive.

The COACH Community Mentoring Coordinator will support the delivery of CLCC’s COACH Community Mentoring program through the recruitment, training, matching and supervision of volunteer mentors.

As part of the Mentoring and Training team, the COACH Community Mentoring Coordinator will mobilise mentors to support families to explore their strengths, define and achieve goals and be empowered towards a thriving future.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee program coordination including recruitment and screening, training and on-going supervision and support and compliance for volunteer mentors.
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate COACH training for volunteer mentors (may be conducted on 2 or more weekends per year).
  • Manage participant enquiries and registrations for the COACH program, including in-take and assessment to determine their suitability for the program, ensuring they are carefully selected for the purpose of minimising risk and maximising positive relationships and outcomes.
  • Foster professional, strength based, solution focussed support to individuals and families connected to CLCC and COACH.
  • Lead volunteer leaders and mentors in delivering set goals and targets, in alignment with CLCC’s vision, mission, values and direction, and adhering to Citylife COACH and CLCC’s policies and procedures.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to volunteer leaders and mentors, facilitating a positive, empowering, and collaborative culture.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Tertiary qualification or Diploma in social work, community services or other relevant discipline, or working towards such qualification.
  • Alternatively, a lower qualification in the relevant field, accompanied with significant working experience in community services sector.
  • 2 years of working experience in providing direct case management support to families preferred.
  • Experience working with vulnerable individuals and families who are affected by issues such as mental health challenges, isolation, relationship difficulties, addiction, family violence or similar experiences and understand how this may impact the coaching relationship.
  • Broad knowledge of community sector – support options and referral pathways.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading and supporting a team of volunteers to deliver the service targets, this will also include the development of volunteer leaders.
  • Capacity and commitment to engage people from diverse backgrounds (e.g. sexual orientation, race, faith) in a non-judgemental and respectful manner.
  • Experience in in-take and assessment for community program participants.
  • Ability and confidence to respond appropriately to people with multiple and complex needs and to mentors.
  • Demonstrated people skills and proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated qualities in capacity to apply judgement, flexibility, responsiveness, and initiative in the delivery of the mentoring service.
