Counselling And Psychology Team Leader - CLCC

CityLife Community Care (CLCC) is looking for an experienced professional counsellor or psychologist to join our passionate and dedicated team as our Counselling and Psychology Team Leader. For more than 25 years, CLCC has supported people in times of crisis, financial difficulty, isolation, and distress. Through our team members and staff, we offer holistic services and empowering pathways for people to move forward in their lives and thrive.

The primary role of the Counselling and Psychology Team Leader is to manage CLCC’s counselling services, including related services such as therapeutic groups and workshops. The Counselling Service (CS) is one of the core streams of the CLCC’s integrated community services. The role oversees a team of counsellors and psychologists to ensure services are delivered professionally and that best, safe practices are effectively implemented. This role also works closely with the Safe Ministries Manager to oversee safe CS practices, ensuring all ministry delivery, at-risk clients, and related areas are being managed according to relevant CityLife and CLCC’s policy and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • To develop and broaden CLCC’s counselling, psychology and related services through promotion, advertising, and networking.
  • To oversee the delivery of CLCC’s counselling and psychological services, ensuring the services, including the supporting services such as client intake and assessment, are delivered in a timely, effective, safe, and professional manner.
  • To ensure members of the Counselling Service team are active members of a counselling professional body, maintain insurance coverage, and meet the expectations of the relevant professional codes of conduct.
  • To ensure the policies and procedures relevant to CS are current and that the counseling services delivered are compliant with WHS, Risk Management and Duty-of-Care requirements.
  • Work with the Safe Ministries Manager and CLCC Director to oversee and implement CLCC’s person at-risk policy and procedures for the CLCC counselling and psychology team.

 

The successful applicant will have the following qualifications and experience:

 

  • Fully qualified and practicing counsellor, therapist, or psychologist, with current professional membership; and at least five (5) years of counselling experience. Supervision qualifications are highly desirable.
  • At least three (3) years of leadership experience (required).
  • Understanding of the church or faith-based context.
  • Knowledge of child safety legislation, and training in family violence assessment and counselling are essential.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of professionals, delivering counselling or other community service, and achieving a goal/target.

Kidz Bizz Playgroup Coordinator - Part Time Fixed Term (12 Months)

CityLife Church is currently looking for a dynamic and self-motivated person who will provide overall leadership and co-ordination to the Kidz Bizz playgroup ministry, including leading playgroups during the week. The Kidz Bizz Playgroup Coordinator is responsible to oversee the playgroups, and to work towards fulfilling the Kidz Bizz Vision and Mission which is “To demonstrate the love of Christ to families with young children in our local community.”

Kidz Bizz playgroups are run weekly by trained volunteer leaders from CityLife Church. We offer a unique, two-hour program which allows the children to learn through different play experiences while also encouraging parents to build friendships.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Responsible to recruit, interview, equip and train KB Team Leaders for playgroups.
  • May be required to lead one to two playgroup sessions a week as needed
  • Ensuring compliance for all KB volunteers are up to date.
  • Responsible for raising a leadership team within the ministry and delegate appropriately.
  • Ensure that craft curriculum has been prepared for each term.
  • Responsible to liaise closely with CityLife Community Care in the coordination of welfare and benevolent services for the pastoral oversight of community families.
  • Responsible to see that all children and teams are valued, welcomed and nurtured in an environment of loving care.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Advanced MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), familiar with Share Point.
  • Minimum Certificate 4 in training/education/teaching or ministry/theology, or working towards, desirable
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, and report writing.
  • Data entry, analysis and database maintenance.
  • Communication – ability to liaise and/or negotiate with pastors, staff, ministry team leaders and members of the congregation.
  • Be proactive in looking for ways to improve processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select and develop leaders.
  • Team building skills.
  • Organisation ability, decision-making and problem solving.
  • Experience organizing or leading small group programs—preferably involving children or families.
  • Ability to coordinate volunteers, schedule sessions, and manage basic logistics

Manningham Young Adults Pastor

CityLife Manningham is seeking a self-motivated, energetic and passionate person who has vision to see the Young Adults of the Manningham congregation continue to grow, connect and be fervent followers of Christ.

Working with the Lead Pastor- Manningham, Manningham staff and volunteers, the Young Adults Pastor oversees the development of the Young Adult Ministry that raises up fervent followers of Jesus Christ who will reach out and impact communities, cities and nations for the kingdom of God.

This is a part time role (FTE 0.4), where the Young Adults Pastor will provide leadership, quality pastoral care and discipleship to those young people associated with the CityLife Manningham Young Adults Ministry – through monthly meetings, Life Groups and pastoral care and visits. 


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Overseeing the Pastoral Care and Discipleship vision within the Young Adults Ministry.
  • Selecting, training, discipling and caring for all Young Adult Leaders.
  • Facilitating and developing all aspects of Young Adults Monthly Meetings/Life Groups.
  • Ensuring that the YAs are personally cared for through Life Groups, visitation, hospitality, encouragement and counsel as and when necessary.
  • Facilitating a Life Group structure and fostering pastoral care and discipleship amongst peers.
  • Developing and maintaining a strategy for reaching and assimilating new YAs.
  • Liaising with the Lead Pastor in all aspects of YAs and general Church activities.
  • Teaching at the various YAs meetings.

The successful applicant will have:
  • Cert IV in Theology (or working towards) is preferable.
  • Previous experience working with youth / young adults in a pastoral setting.
  • Understanding of current Child Safe Standards including risk management processes to ensure a safe environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select, develop and lead leaders.
  • Track record of successful small group, coaching and pastoral care skills i.e. giving and receiving feedback, delegation and accountability.
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, and report writing.
  • Team building skills.
  • Effective decision-making and problem solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to disciple youth and young adults.

CLCC Community Mentoring & Training Team Leader

CityLife Community Care (CLCC) is the community impact expression of CityLife Church Knox. It exists to connect our church with our local community, to support and empower people in need to thrive. The role of the Community Mentoring &Training (CM&T) team leader is to lead and manage two key functions of CLCC’s Integrated Service Model - Community Mentoring and Community Training. It leads a team of staff and volunteers to effectively deliver the services and programs offered under these two functions.

As a member of the CLCC’s leadership team, this role also works closely with the CLCC Director and other team leaders to develop and implement operational strategies to achieve the goals set for CLCC. It ensures the CM&T team aligns with the direction of CLCC.

 

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the development, delivery and evaluation of CM&T programs for clients utilising the skills of volunteers.
  • Develop community partnerships and identify opportunities to meet needs in the community that align with the CM&T team.
  • Oversee and provide regular support and supervision to CM&T staff and where appropriate volunteer support workers who provide care and support to clients, this includes documented supervision, debrief, encouragement, evaluation of performance and provision of feedback, ensuring a safe, supportive, high standard of service delivery.
  • Effectively, recruit, recognise, train and retain, volunteers, by actively attracting, identifying and engaging individuals to contribute their time and skills to CLCC for the CM&T team, facilitating a positive, empowering, and collaborative culture (in collaboration with other staff members).
  • Lead the CM&T team in alignment with CLCC’s vision, mission, values, and direction, adhering to CityLife Church and CLCC’s policies and procedures.


The successful candidate will have:

  • Tertiary degree in social work, community services or other relevant discipline, or working towards such qualification. Alternatively, a lower qualification in the relevant field, accompanied with significant experience in the community services sector.
  • Understanding of the church or faith-based context.
  • Experience in leading a team of staff and/or volunteers to deliver a project and achieve a goal/target.
  • Experience in mentoring and equipping volunteers and people in need from the community.
  • Experience or demonstrated ability in in-take and assessment for program participants.
  • Experience in coordinating and managing groups/classes involving working with clients and volunteer leaders.
  • Community service and case management experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds who are affected by social issues such as disadvantage, mental health challenges, isolation, relationship difficulties, addiction, family violence and similar issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise, set and implement priorities, manage multiple tasks, and evaluate performance.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and administrative skills.
  • Demonstrated people skills and consistently demonstrates a non-judgemental, empathetic attitude when dealing with people from all walks of life.
  • Aptitude for de-escalating situations where people may be upset, distressed or highly anxious whether face-to-face or over the phone.
  • Multi-tasking and ability to manage varied projects, groups, and multiple relationships.

Network Pastor - Chinese Church (cantonese Congregation Focus)

CityLife Chinese Church is currently seeking a Network Pastor with a Cantonese Congregation focus. The Network Pastor – Chinese Church (Cantonese Congregation Focus), works closely with the Chinese Church Lead Pastor to grow the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor is mainly responsible for the development and growth of pastoral care and discipleship through our Life Groups network, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups.


The Network Pastor is also responsible with the Lead Pastor for the development and growth of the Chinese Church weekend services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation. The Network Pastor works closely with the Lead Pastor – Chinese Church, to develop and deliver on the goals and vision for the broader Chinese Church congregation – spanning both Cantonese and Mandarin communities – in line with the Vision of CityLife Church.

This is a Fixed Term role - 12 months – 0.4 FTE (2 days)


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in casting vision and goals for the Chinese Church, with a primary focus on the Cantonese Congregation.
  • Assist in implementing the vision and goals for the Chinese Church, including both the Cantonese and Mandarin congregations.

  • Grow Life Groups through active coaching of Life Group leaders and co-leaders & raising new groups.
  • Overseeing the Chinese Church Life Groups, including Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking groups.
  • Assist in preparations for smooth running of the Chinese Church services, with a primary focus on the Cantonese congregation services.
  • Coaching and training Life Group Coaches, Leaders and Co-Leaders.
  • Provide Life Tracks teaching and training for the Chinese Church congregation, including both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking members.

 

The successful applicant will have:

  • Theological or Pastoral qualification is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a pastoral capacity is preferable.
  • Demonstrated ability to recruit, select and develop leaders/volunteers.
  • Demonstrated confidence in spiritual gifts and ministry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication – including public speaking, weekend message construction and delivery, and report writing.
  • Ability to motivate leaders and grow volunteer leadership teams.
  • Leadership - effective consulting and decision-making skills and experience (preferably at least two years’ experience leading others).
  • Competence in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and social media.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is strongly preferred, as this role supports both Cantonese and Mandarin-speaking Life Groups and the broader Chinese Church Congregation.
