Church Services

This is what happens when joining God @ work:

• Car Park Team
  It begins in the carpark. You put on your vest and grab you traffic wand while chatting with your teammates. People start driving in to attend church and the first person they see is you……your smiling face makes them feel welcomed. You direct people to empty car spaces ensuring a happy, safe environment for all.

• Chair Team
  You are a prayer warrior who rolls up your sleeves and gets the job done. No one knows you are the one who has provided the seat they are sitting on…. they don’t know you have prayed over each chair – blessing them but God knows. Afterwards you grab a coffee and catch up with other team members for a chat …...God’s community.

• Communion Team
  While gathering around a table chatting and laughing you are preparing the communion elements before the service begins. Your serving spirit allows the congregation to partake in a beautiful expression of faith. You pair up with a team member and distribute the elements allowing the Holy Spirit to touch people’s hearts in an atmosphere of grace. After packing up you make your way back to your seats with a joyful heart knowing you have allowed the body of Christ to remember all that Jesus has done for them.

• Connect Team
  You are the heartbeat of church, with so many people attending every weekend, people could easily get lost in the crowd and this is where the connect team becomes a foundational role. You enjoy meeting and having conversations with new people and regular attendees alike - listening to their stories. You have a heart to see them connected within our community. Where they begin to become part of our church family…finding solid friendships and support, people to do life with – no longer on the fringe.

• Greeting Team
  People are starting to walk through the door of the building – church is about to start. As people are streaming through into the auditorium, it is just a place with a static atmosphere. Then a greeter at the door smiles and says hello. The atmosphere changes as it starts to come alive with people smiling, greeting one another. Greeters are superheros sent to save newcomers and attendee’s alike from feelings of awkwardness. Why not become part of our welcome team and put out your hand, smile and simply say hello. That’s all it takes…...yet it has the power to generate community.

• Hospitality Team
  The church service ends, people raise up from their seats and erupt from the auditorium into the foyer. The foyer comes to life with milling people, engaging each other in conversation, hugs, and handshakes. By being part of our hospitality team, you are extending generosity to both newcomers and regular attendee’s – allowing space for connections within our church family and embracing newcomers into the life of our community.

• Section Connector Team
  Every seat has a person with a story……they just need someone to listen. This is where you come in. Almost everyone has their favourite section within church to sit. So being a section connector you will see the same people each week, having conversations and listening to their stories, introducing them to others, having the privilege to watch relationships grow. Section communities are built on making church feel less like a crowd and more like a family.

• Special Events Team
  Every person has been given talents by God to use for the body of Christ. Our events team is ideal for those with busy schedules that don’t allow them to commit monthly. Christmas, Easter, and World Impact events take many hands to pull together.

• Usher Team
  You love directing people…… there is an art to it. It is all about making people, especially new people feel comfortable by approaching them with confidence and a smile showing them where they can sit. You show God’s grace to the late comers by easing their nervousness about finding a place to sit without disrupting the service. Ushers are a tremendous force in setting the tone for worship and for people to hear and respond to the word of God.

• Venue Manager Team
  You look at your watch…...yep it’s time to go and set up church for the body of Christ to meet and worship as a whole. You greet your team members and share a laugh as you work alongside one another. You are a servant, a member of Christ’s body, part of God’s family, his household. You have a strong sense of duty as you are the first to start and the last to leave, you enjoy assuring everything runs smoothly with a smile on your face and service in your heart as you complete required tasks as well as support other teams who look to you for guidance.
